Church Revelation in a Digital Realm: Converting the Body of Christ into Imago Ecclesiae
The Covid-19 pandemic has proved that the church can empower digital technology to fulfill their duties and responsibilities as the body of Christ. Therefore, the polemic no longer lies on whether the church can, but on how and what the church should consider in doing so. This article understands that the church's digitalization efforts are within the tension of real-church and digital-space that does not need to be resolved by choosing one or merging the two. The liquidity of the church is understood as the challenge for a new pilgrimage of faith related to its existence as the body of Christ. This nature is then elaborated with the development of Society 5.0 as a realization of the church's contextualization towards the digital world. The findings of this research are that the church is concerned with all aspects that can be manifested in the digital space without causing distortion of existence in the real world, so the digitalization of the church is understood as an effort to convert the body of Christ into imago ecclesiae.
